Low Vision
We treat people who have vision changes due to eye conditions like macular degeneration, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy.
In occupational therapy we use the latest tools, devices, and strategies to enable you to do activities that are difficult because of vision changes.
These are just a few of the activities we address in therapy:
Reading
Shopping
Cooking and cleaning
Taking medications
Using a computer or telephone
Operating home appliances
Work and hobbies
Going out to events and new places
Our Process
-
1. Evaluation
We discuss your goals then perform a thorough evaluation with standardized tests and observation of task performance to understand how your vision impacts the activities you do.
-
2. Identify tools and strategies
We work together to determine the best devices, tools, activity and environmental modifications that suit your life and will enable you to meet your goals.
-
3. Training
We train you how to use the tools and strategies to ensure you are comfortable and confident with them. If your needs change in the future, we will see you again to problem solve new solutions.
